Pune Crime News: A land dispute in Pune escalated after the district president of Shiv Sena (Shinde faction) allegedly created chaos and fired a bullet from his licensed gun. The incident occurred at a construction project site on Sus-Nande Road in the Bavdhan region, leading to panic among the locals. Pune police arrested two individuals, including the Sena leader, and seized a pistol and four live cartridges from him.
What Led To Escalation?
As per the officials, an argument broke out between two groups on Sus-Nande Road regarding the land ownership and transactions. They further stated that a heated argument broke out between them, which quickly escalated into a physical altercation. One of the accused, during the confrontation, pulled out his licensed pistol and fired a shot in the air. The Bavdhan police, upon receiving the information, rushed at the scene and arrested the accused after questioning the eyewitnesses.

What Did Police Say?
Senior inspector Arvind Pawar, while providing details, stated that the police have seized the firearm from the accused that he had obtained from the Pune city police. "The accused and his aide reached the site around 12.45am on Thursday and started arguing with two security guards after noticing wooden material there," Pawar was quoted as saying by the Times of India.

"We have seized the firearm from the accused. He had obtained the firearm licence from the Pune city police," he added.
Probe Underway
As per the reports, the Sena leader and his aide have been detained under sections 125 (act endangering life or personal safety of others) and 115 (voluntarily causing hurt) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). The police are likely to examine CCTV footage of the incident site, record statements of eyewitnesses, and also conduct a forensic examination of the recovered weapon. The investigating team is also trying to find out the exact reason behind the escalation.
