Punjabi Singer Shubh has reacted to the flak he has been catching for flaunting a hoodie illustrating Indira Gandhi's assassination on a map of Punjab in his show in London. In a statement released on Instagram, Shubh said the hoodie was thrown at him by the audience when he was busy performing. “No matter what I do, some people will find something to bring it against me. A lot of clothes, jewellery ad phones were thrown at me by the audience at my first show in London. I was there to perform, not to see what got thrown at me and what is on it. The team has worked very hard for the past couple of months to perform for you all,” he wrote in an Instagram story.

The singer had been in the middle of public ire in September for allegedly supporting the pro-Khilastani agenda. He shared a distorted map of India, that had the union territory of Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab and North-eastern states missing.
After massive outrage, Shubh deleted the Instagram post and uploaded another one which had no photo but "Pray for Punjab" written on it.
Shubh faced massive backlash over his contentious post and his proposed India tour was cancelled amid nationwide protests.
Just a day prior to Shubh's India tour getting cancelled, Indian electronics brand boAt announced that it would no longer sponsor Shubh's India concert.
"At boAt, while our commitment to the incredible music community runs deep, we are first & foremost a true Indian brand. Therefore, when we became aware of the remarks made by artist Shubh earlier this year, we chose to withdraw our sponsorship from the tour," the company said in a statement.

The issue was more played up as it was in the backdrop of India-Canada tension that erupted after Justin Trudeau alleged Indian agencies were involved in the killing of their national Hardeep Singh Nijjar, who was designated as a terrorist by India.
