Sikkim Weather Update: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) have forecast heavy to very heavy rainfall across Sikkim till May 26. This weather pattern has been attributed to the cyclonic circulation over the Bay of Bengal and moisture incursion.

The weather department also warned of risks of floods, landslides and travel disruption due to heavy showers.

As the southwest monsoon arrived over some areas of Bay of Bengal and Andaman Sea early last week, several states in the country experienced light to heavy rainfall with strong gusts and thunderstorms.
