SIR Third Phase: The Election Commission of India has announced the start of the third phase of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of voter lists in 16 states and three union territories. As part of this massive campaign, Booth Level Officers (BLOs) will directly contact voters door-to-door. According to the Election Commission, the entire country except Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh will come under its purview.

The Election Commission said that the schedule for the third phase of SIR has been decided keeping in mind the ongoing house listing as well as the common field machinery working under the census.

According to the Election Commission, during the third phase of SIR, more than 3.94 lakh booth level officers will go door-to-door to contact 36.73 crore voters.

In Which States Will SIR Work?

The states where SIR work is going to start include Odisha, Mizoram, Sikkim, Manipur, Daman Diu, Uttarakhand, Andhra Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, Haryana, Chandigarh, Telangana, Punjab, Karnataka, Meghalaya, Maharashtra, Jharkhand, Delhi, Nagaland and Tripura.

SIR Third Phase Schedule

The final voter list of Dadra Nagar and Daman Diu will be released on September 11, 2026.

The final voter list of Odisha, Mizoram, Sikkim and Manipur will be released on September 6, 2026.

The final voter list in Uttarakhand will be released on September 15.

The final result for Andhra Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, Haryana, Chandigarh will be released on September 22, 2026.

The final voter list in Telangana and Punjab will be published on October 1, 2026.

The final voter list of Karnataka, Meghalaya, Maharashtra, Jharkhand, Delhi will be published on October 7, 2026.

Whereas, the final voter list of Nagaland will be released on November 22 and the final voter list of Tripuri will be released on December 23, 2026.

SIR Work Done In 13 States

The Election Commission has so far completed the SIR process in 13 states, including Bihar and Uttar Pradesh. Furthermore, based on the new voter lists prepared after the SIR, it has also conducted assembly elections in six states, including Bihar.
