In a major action against the individuals allegedly spying for Pakistani agencies, Indian authorities have arrested several individuals in the past few days, stating that the suspects have been involved in sharing crucial information with the Pakistani officials in return for money or fame. The authorities have carried out the operation in several states, including Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, and Punjab, arresting at least eight peopleThe authorities clarified that the Pakistani agencies have been trying to contact people who are either active on social media or working in low-profile jobs.

Jyoti Malhotra

Jyoti Malhotra has been allegedly spying for Pakistani officials from New Delhi and shared some crucial details in the last few months. She operates a successful travel YouTube channel and has also visited Pakistan multiple times, promoting its culture and cuisine. She was also in an intimate relationship with a Pakistani official and visited Indonesia's Bali with him, stated the Times of India, citing sources.

Devendra Singh Dhillon

Devendra Singh Dhillon, a 25-year-old Khalsa College student in Patiala, was arrested on May 12 for sharing pictures with guns on Facebook. The authorities found out that he had visited Pakistan in November 2024 and allegedly shared some of the important details with the Pakistani agencies.

Nauman Ilahi

Nauman Ilahi was arrested by the authorities from Haryana's Panipat for allegedly working as a spy for the Pakistani agencies. He used to work as a security guard and received money from Islamabad frequently in his brother-in-law's bank accounts.

Shahzad

The Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force (STF) on Sunday arrested Shahzad, a businessman from Moradabad district. The authorities stated that he had shared sensitive information with Pakistan when the tension between New Delhi and Islamabad was at its peak. He had also allegedly traveled to Pakistan several times and was involved in the smuggling of multiple products, reported NDTV.

India carried out Operation Sindoor against the terror outfits in Pakistan in response to the Pahalgam terror attack in which 26 tourists were killed on April 22.
