Solan Fire: A massive fire broke out in the wee hours of Monday in Arki town in Himachal Pradesh’s Solan district, claiming the life of a 7-year-old child and trapping several others inside their homes. The State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) has been deployed, and relief and rescue operations are currently underway, jagran.com reported.

The child who died has been identified as Priyansh. Two people have been rescued, while the injured are undergoingtreatment at Arki Civil Hospital. Authorities continue to work at the site to ensure the safety of those affected.

What Led To Solan Fire Incident

According to jagran.com, the spark originated from an old wooden house. Subsequent cylinder explosions in homes worsened the situation, engulfing seven to eight houses. Arki MLA Sanjay Awasthi is also monitoring the rescue efforts at the scene.

Fire Engines Rushed To The Spot

Solan Deputy Commissioner Manmohan Sharma said seven to eight houses were affected by the fire. A massive fire broke out around 2:45 pm in Arki, near the UCO Bank at the old bus stand. Fire engines from Baluganj in Shimla, Banlagi in Solan, and Ambuja Cement Company arrived at the scene.

According to the administration, some people are still feared trapped in the fire. Given the severity of the situation, the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) is engaged in relief and rescue operations. The cause of the fire is not yet known.
