Bengaluru Traffic Woes: A man took to the social media platform Reddit to list out all the reasons behind traffic issues in Bengaluru and why traffic problems are there to stay in the city. In a Reddit post, the user hit out at the alleged poor urban planning of the city and said that the metro expansion wouldn't solve the traffic woes.

The user said that the traffic problem in Bengaluru is rooted in unplanned and poorly connected localities, with low road density and no proper segregation for malls, offices or residential areas.

“Someone buys random farmland and builds office space over it without any urban planning, road connectivity, or basic water and electricity supply", the user wrote in a now-deleted Reddit post.

According to the user, if the government is pressured, the outskirt areas of Bengaluru can be saved from traffic hazards, but the major parts of the city are beyond repair.

The X post also compared Bengaluru's traffic issues to those of other cities. Mumbai has similar problems, but on a smaller scale, and is tackling them with projects like sea links. Delhi, however, has eased its burden by developing nearby cities like Gurgaon, Noida, and Ghaziabad.

The post author said, Reddit users noted that without proper long-term planning, Bengaluru’s traffic issues could get worse, stressing the need for better urban development.

Social Media Reacts To Users' Analysis Of Bengaluru Traffic

"The outskirts are already in a dire state. Take example of areas surrounding airport. Lot of layouts without proper master plan. Again creating a cluster of villages with poor connectivity and urban planning,'' one commenter wrote.

'Metro is joke in Bangalore. Cause last mile connectivity is just crap. Getting to and from metro is hurdle on its own,'' another said.

''I stay beyond KR Puram and the traffic has worsened in the last 2 years. My commute time has gone from 30 mins to 45 mins to my tech park in whitefield via a two wheeler. And this is when there are 10s of new multi-block societies due for completion in the next few years along this route,'' a third added.
