Meghalaya Honeymoon Murder Case: Sonam Raghuvanshi had told her husband, Raja Raghuvanshi, that she would let him consummate the marriage only after making an offering at the Kamakhya Temple in Guwahati, Assam. From there, the honeymoon couple went to Shillong, where Raja was killed in a murder plotted by his own wife. Sonam got her husband killed with the help of her lover Raj Kushwaha and his three childhood friends. All five accused have been arrested, and new details have started to emerge with the ongoing probe and interrogation.
“Sonam convinced her husband, Raja, that they need to make offerings at the Kamakhya Temple before consummating the marriage,” news agency PTI quoted an investigation team officer as saying. Following Sonam’s wish to visit Kamakhya Temple, Raja planned their trip to Guwahati before visiting Meghalaya for their honeymoon.
Sonam and Raja got married on May 11 and reached Meghalaya via Guwahati on May 20 for their honeymoon. The couple went missing on May 23 from the East Khasi Hills District of Shillong’s Sohra.

Raja Raghuvanshi was killed by Sonam’s lover and his three friends near Weisawdong Falls. They then dumped his body in a deep gorge. His body was later recovered on June 2. “Sonam was present when Raja was killed,” the official added.
