Bengaluru Viral News: A street interview in Bengaluru has gone viral, once again putting the spotlight on language tensions in the city. In the video, a woman firmly tells a Telugu-speaking Voxpop host to ask questions in Kannada first, prompting fresh debate over the use of regional languages in Karnataka’s capital.
The clip, which is now widely shared online, shows the host asking the woman about Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s (RCB) recent IPL win. However, before answering, the woman interrupts and says, “Speak in Kannada first. You must ask the question in Kannada.”
The host appears surprised and explains that he knows only a little Kannada. The woman calmly replies, “Speak in whatever little Kannada you know. That’s fine.” Her composed tone and insistence on the local language struck a chord with many, especially Kannadigas concerned about Kannada losing space in public conversations.
You should first speak in Kannada!

Another user appreciated the growing awareness among the public, saying, “A few years ago, people wouldn’t have spoken up. This is a welcome change. More people need to do this.”
Several viewers also praised the host for keeping the situation calm. “The host didn’t argue. He listened and respected her words. That shows maturity,” one user commented.
Others saw the moment as part of a broader shift. “When someone asks for Kannada politely, it reminds others to respect the place they’re in,” another post said.
