To strengthen digital safety for senior citizens, Google, in collaboration with Dainik Jagran and Vishvas News, is organising a special webinar under its flagship initiative "DigiKavach" on Saturday in New Delhi. The session is part of the campaign "Digital Safety for Senior Citizens: Sache Ke Sathi."
The webinar aims to educate elderly citizens about the importance of online safety and equip them to protect themselves from fraud and scams. Trainers will guide participants on safe digital practices, while fact-checkers will conduct a dedicated session on October 4, offering practical tips to identify and avoid misinformation and fraud. The Noble Citizen Foundation is also extending its support to this initiative.
About the Campaign
Under the "Digital Safety for Senior Citizens: Sach Ke Sathi" campaign, teams from Jagran Digital and Vishvas News are conducting seminars and webinars across the country to train people in digital safety. So far, sessions have been held in 30 cities across 20 states, including Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Telangana, Punjab, Uttarakhand, and Delhi.
The training modules focus on recognising online scams, avoiding fraud, and ensuring safe use of digital platforms. Google's DigiKavach campaign is at the forefront of raising awareness against online scams in India, with the broader goal of empowering citizens to stay alert and safe in the digital world.
