Srinagar Blast Update: In a latest development in the Srinagar explosion, the Ministry of Home Affairs has released its statement specifying the number of people killed, injured and who were the victims of the accidental blast at Nowgam police station. The accidental explosion took place inside the police station after a huge cache of explosive material recovered from a terrorist in Faridabad went off late on Friday, killing nine and injuring 32.
The statement was released by the Ministry on Saturday, through a press conference. Prashant Lokhande, Joint Secretary (J&K Division), Ministry of Home Affairs, informed that the explosion took place around 11:20 pm on Friday.

The recovered explosive material was kept securely in an open area at the police station, and the blast occurred when authorities were extracting samples from a large cache.
32 people have sustained injuries in a high-intensity blast at Nowgam police station, including 27 police personnel, two revenue officials, and three civilians. In the aftermath of the explosion, the police station has suffered severe damage, inflicting destruction on nearby buildings.
The ministry dismissed all the speculations, saying that ' any other speculation is unnecessary' as it maintained that an investigation into the matter is taking place.
Srinagar Blast Update: Local Tailor Among Deceased
Among those killed was a local tailor who went to the 'police station to stitch some uniforms and to pack explosive-related items, as per the tailor's neighbour quoted by news agency PTI.

The neighbour of the deceased tailor said, “He had a tailoring shop here. The police had taken him to the station to stitch some uniforms and to pack an explosive-related item. During this process, the explosion occurred…The explosive material had been brought here from Faridabad, and the blast happened while they were handling it. He, too, was martyred in that incident.”

Srinagar Explosion: J-K DGP Issues Statement
“Due to the sensitive and unstable nature of the recovered material, the sampling and examination were being carried out with extreme caution. Despite all precautions, an accidental blast occurred last night,” J&K Director General of Police, Nalin Prabhat, said in a press conference on Saturday (November 15).
