Tamil Nadu Assembly Election 2026: The BJP-led NDA has finalised a seat-sharing agreement with the alliance partners, Amma Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam (AMMK), Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK) and All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) for the Tamil Nadu Assembly Elections.

As per the arrangement, BJP will contest 27 seats while PMK and AMMK will contest 18 and 11 seats, respectively. AIADMK is set to play big brother in the home state, with the rest of the seats to contest.

The coalition partners finalised the pact in Chennai. BJP leader and Union Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal and AIADMK chief Edappadi K Palaniswami signed the electoral pact at the party headquarters.

Before the announcement of the seat-sharing pact, Goyal expressed confidence about the alliance's victory in the upcoming assembly elections, saying, "The people of Tamil Nadu will reject DMK-Congress and NDA will sweep both Tamil Nadu and Puducherry".

Hitting out at the ruling DMK, Goyal said, "We will launch the fight against the evil force DMK and its partners who have taken Tamil Nadu to extremely difficult times due to their incompetent management of the economy and due to actions which hurt Tamil culture. People are fed up with the DMK and Congress".

BJP Tamil Nadu president Nainar Nagendran, PMK president Anbumani Ramadoss, and AMMK general secretary TTV Dhinakaran were also present at the pact signing event.

Speaking about the seat-sharing talks, AIADMK leader E Palaniswami (EPS) said that talks went smoothly and confirmed that the numbers have been officially finalised.

EPS further added that discussions with other parties were underway and their seat allocations will be announced later.
