Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin cautioned Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday that he will be "isolated" if he continues to target rivals rather than focus on governance. Stalin, whose DMK is part of the INDIA alliance, put a dent in the BJP's 'abki baar, 400 paar' election hopes, including a second successive rout in the southern state.
"The election is over... now we have to think about the country. Budget 2024 will save your rule... but will not save the nation. Run the government objectively... otherwise you will be isolated."

"Don't still be vindictive towards those who defeated you... you will be isolated if you govern according to your political likes and dislikes," the Tamil leader said on X (formerly Twitter).
The statement comes hours after the opposition staged a walkout in the Rajya Sabha, claiming other states had been discriminated against by the Centre in the Budget.
Meanwhile, DMK MP Dayanidhi Maran said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi must follow ML Stalin and work for the people who didn't vote for him.
“I think the time has come for the PM to take some good advice from and follow our CM MK Stalin. When MK Stalin became the CM of Tamil Nadu, he said - I will work not only for the people who voted for me but also for the people who did not vote for me, it is my duty. Today, the PM is not working for the people who voted for his party but only for the parties which are supporting him,” Maran said, reported ANI.
In the Upper House of Parliament, Leader of Opposition and Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge said that the Union Budget provided funds and schemes only for two states—Bihar and Andhra Pradesh. He added that all other states did not find any mention and termed the budget as a "kursi-bachao" document.
