Tamil Nadu: A young doctor pursuing a postgraduate medical degree was found dead inside his car near the hill town of Kodaikanal in Tamil Nadu. The officials stated that they have recovered a suicide note and suspicious fluids from his car, suggesting that the deceased had allegedly committed suicide. The officials further stated that while the exact reason behind Dr Joshua Samraj's death is not known yet, he was reportedly going through a financial crisis for the past few months.
While providing details, the officials stated that the car had remained unmoved for three days in a forested area near Poomparai, leading to suspicion from the locals. The deceased's parents reportedly told police that Samraj was pursuing a postgraduate medical degree and had been suffering from depression for the past few months, reported News18. The authority has recovered the suicide note in which the deceased has apologised for his act; however, he did not blame anyone or any specific reason.
"The doctor has apologised to his family in the suicide note, but has neither blamed anyone nor given any reason. His family has said he was depressed because of an issue in a relationship," one of the police officers was quoted as saying by NDTV. The officials further stated that while it is speculated that he took the step due to financial losses, they are investigating to find more details.
“There were reports that he took the extreme step due to losses in online gaming. We have not found any such detail in his suicide note, nor do his parents say so. We are investigating," one of the officials was quoted as saying by NDTV. The police also stated that the doctor might have administered intravenous fluids to himself. The officials further confirmed that they are investigating to find more details and reasons behind his tragic death.
