Tamil Nadu Student Stripped, Hit On Private Parts In Ragging Incident At Madurai ITI Hostel

A disturbing ragging incident has emerged at an Industrial Training Institute (ITI) College hostel inThirumangalam, Madurai, Tamil Nadu, where a student was allegedly stripped and assaulted by peers.

A viral social media video of the incident shows students forcibly undressing the victim, ridiculing him, and striking his genitals with a slipper. After the victim’s parents lodged a complaint, police filed a case against three students, and the hostel warden was suspended pending investigation.

In a separate case in February 2025, five students from the Government College of Nursing in Kottayam, Kerala, were arrested for brutally ragging juniors.

The abuse, ongoing since November 2024, involved cutting the victims’ bodies, applying cream to wounds and mouths, stripping them, hanging dumbbells on their private parts, and using stationery to cause pain.

The victims reported the abuse to Gandhinagar police, leading to the suspension of the five accused students.
