Tamil Nadu Weather: The Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC) issued a yellow alert for many districts for the next five days as heavy rains surged over sections of Tamil Nadu on Thursday. Vilupuram saw the most rainfall of 18 cm on August 8. After that, there were 12 cm in Sethiyathope, 11 cm in Bhuvanagiri, 12 cm in Pondicherry Town, 12 cm in Cuddalore, and 9 cm in Tirukoilur, Kalakurichi, and Manamadurai, Sivagangai.

Yercaud (Salem), Thirukkanur (Puducherry), Tindivanam (Villupuram), Vepur (Cuddalore), Chidambaram (Cuddalore), and Puducherry (Puducherry) have all recorded rainfall totals of 8 cm.

In the upcoming days, the RMC predicts light to moderate rain, thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds that might reach 30 to 40 km/h in certain isolated locations of Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal.

Tamil Nadu Rain Forecast

Heavy rain is expected at isolated locations in Tirupattur, Vellore, Ranipettai, Tiruvallur, Kancheepuram, and Tiruvannamalai districts today. In addition to the Nilgiris, Theni, Dindigul, Tenkasi, Tirunelveli, Kanyakumari, Madurai, Sivagangai, Ramanathapuram, Thoothukudi, Pudukkottai, and Thanjavur districts, heavy rain is predicted for the Ghat regions of Coimbatore on August 11.

On August 12, isolated locations in the Ghat regions of Coimbatore and Tirunelveli, as well as the districts of the Nilgiris, Theni, Dindigul, Tiruppur, Salem, Namakkal, Karur, Tiruchirappalli, Ariyalur, Perambalur, Pudukkottai, Thanjavur, Sivagangai, Madurai, and Kanyakumari, could see heavy rain.

Heavy rain is anticipated on August 13 in Ghat areas of Coimbatore, Theni, Dindigul, Tenkasi, and Tirunelveli, with additional rain in Nilgiris, Krishnagiri, Dharmapuri, Tirupattur, Erode, and Kanyakumari districts.

Weather In Chennai

It will be partly overcast, with mild to moderate rain, thunderstorms, and lightning in Chennai. It is predicted that the lowest temperature will be between 24 and 25 degrees Celsius, while the highest temperature will be about 35 degrees Celsius.
