Tamil Nadu Weather Update: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Saturday stated that several districts of Tamil Nadu are likely to witness light to heavy rainfall for the next few days. The weather department stated that the coastal regions are also expected to receive thunderstorms and gusty winds along with heavy rainfall. The continuous rainfall is likely to provide relief from the scorching heat by reducing the temperature by two to four degrees Celsius. However, the excessive rainfall is also likely to lead to issues like waterlogging in several parts of the city. The weather department has advised the residents to follow the guidelines and limit their outings to avoid any inconveniences.

While providing details, the weather department stated that several districts, including Coimbatore, Tirunelveli, Nilgiris, Theni, Tenkasi, and Kanniyakumari, are likely to witness light to heavy rainfall on September 27. It further stated that the residents of these districts will also receive thunderstorms and gusty winds. The weather department further stated that several parts of Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal are likely to experience light to moderate rainfall between September 28 and October 2.
