Tamil Nadu Weather: The Regional Meteorological Center (RMC), Chennai, has issued a very heavy rain alert for multiple Tamil Nadu districts until June 18. A red alert for heavy to very heavy rainfall has been issued for isolated areas in the Nilgiris and Coimbatore’s ghat sections. Tenkasi and Theni districts are also expected to witness heavy rainfall. Light to moderate showers are likely to occur over the weekend in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal. Chennai will see partly cloudy skies with moderate rain, accompanied by thunder and lightning. Rain activity is likely to continue in Tamil Nadu till June 22.

As per RMC, an upper air cyclonic circulation prevailing over the northwest Bay of Bengal is expected to intensify into a low-pressure area by June 17. The system is likely to deepen further and move in a northwesterly direction in the coming days. The weather agency attributed the ongoing weather fluctuations to the combined effects of this emerging low-pressure system and a strengthening southwest monsoon.tamilnaduweather
