Increased Fare To Be Implemented Category-Wise

Opposition Reacts, Travellers Speak Out

The opposition parties are criticising the government’s move as a step aimed at benefiting in the upcoming local body polls while increasing the financial burden on travellers.

BRS spokesperson Krishank Manne slammed the ruling Congress government, saying that the government does not have the money to fulfil its promises, hence it is burdening common people.

“There is no free bus scheme; people from the same family are paying double as the Congress government is looting them by increasing fares,” Manne said.

“On one hand, they are giving free bus rides to women and on the other, they have increased ticket prices, which is not correct. If they want to give free bus service, why not give it to students in schools and colleges? In all these years, we didn’t see such a hike, but in the last two years, the Congress government has increased the price 3-4 times,” a traveller was quoted as saying by News18.
