In a daring ATM robbery, four masked men broke into an SBI ATM kiosk in Telangana's Rangareddy district and fled with nearly Rs 30 lakh—all within just four minutes. The incident took place in the early hours of Sunday.

How the Heist Unfolded?

At 1:56 AM, CCTV footage captured a man stepping out of a car and casually walking towards the ATM kiosk. He then sprayed a substance on the CCTV camera at the entrance to avoid being recorded. The gang also cut the emergency siren wires to prevent any alarm from being triggered, NDTV reported.

However, they failed to disable the CCTV camera inside the kiosk, which recorded the entire theft.

Three of the robbers, armed with an iron rod and a gas cutter, forced open the cash dispensing machine, while the fourth member stood guard outside. Within minutes, they emptied the machine, stealing Rs 29.69 lakh before rolling down the shutter and escaping at 2:00 AM.

Police Investigation and Suspects

Speaking to NDTV, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Raju confirmed that investigators had tracked the getaway car using multiple CCTV cameras along its escape route.

"There were five people involved—one in the car, one keeping watch outside, and three inside the ATM kiosk. They came fully prepared with gas cutters and iron rods to break open the machine and steal the cash," the ACP stated.

Authorities suspect the robbers belong to a gang from Haryana, as they attempted to loot another ATM in Mylardevpally the same night. However, they were forced to abandon their second heist after suffering an electric shock while cutting alarm sensors.

Investigators believe this gang has been involved in similar ATM thefts in Bengaluru and Hosur (Tamil Nadu), as the modus operandi matches previous cases.

Multiple police teams have been deployed to track down the suspects and recover the stolen cash. The investigation is ongoing, with authorities closely monitoring CCTV footage and other evidence to identify and apprehend the culprits.
