THE 30-YEAR-OLD accused was arrested after he allegedly killed his sister over suspicion of having affairs with someone. The incident was reported from Thane in Maharashtra where a man allegedly tortured and allegedly killed his 12-year-old sister suspecting her of having an affair after he noticed blood stains on her clothes, the police said.
According to officials, the preliminary investigation revealed that the man allegedly tortured the victim by inflicting burn wounds on her body using hot tongs. Due to extreme torture, the 12-year-old girl suffered severe burn injuries. When the girl was taken to the hospital, she was declared brought dead.
The senior inspector of Ulhasnagar police station Madhukar Kad said the girl used to live with his brother and sister-in-law in Ulhasnagar, a city that is located just 26 km from Thane.
Man Mistakes Sister’s Periods As Affair
The police said the incident took place due to a misunderstanding as the girl had a menstruation for the first time but the brother thought she had got physical with someone. A few days ago, the girl's period started and she was discharging blood. The brother noticed the bloodstains on her clothes and started doubting that the girl was having an affair.
However, the child had no clue about the menstrual cycle when his brother questioned her about the bloodstains, she was unable to explain."He accused her of having an affair with someone," Kad told Times Of India (TOI).
Soon after the matter came to light a case of murder under section 302 of the Indian Penal Code has been registered against the accused. The girl's body has been sent for a post-mortem.
