The world T20 is going on but Super Over was here. BJP put up an enormous fight. One important message of Suresh Gopi in Thrissur is that his systematic outreach to minority communities. It is a very strong message to BJP that communal campaign won't go very far in Kerala."

BJP candidate Rajeev Chandrasekhar also conceded his defeat to Shashi Tharoor in the Thiruvananthapuram Lok Sabha constituency but said that the election result in Kerala indicates that people are increasingly supporting the saffron party.

“While the outcome has been disappointing, we all worked very hard and ran a very positive campaign. It is because of that 3.4 lakh people of Thiruvananthapuram came out and supported us, which is a record in itself. As I said on 5th March when I came here, it is my mission to transform Thiruvananthapuram, and I stand by it,” said Rajeev.
