India-Pakistan Tension: Uttarakhand trains from Jammu and Punjab have been cancelled due to ongoing tension between both the countries. Earlier, in light of the escalating tension, several trains across the country have also been cancelled. Trains operating from Rishikesh to destinations in Jammu and Punjab have been suspended until further notice due to security concerns.
List of Trains Cancelled From Jammu and Punjab To Uttarakhand
Several trains between Jammu, Punjab, and Uttarakhand have been cancelled amid rising tensions between India and Pakistan. The cancellations have affected key passenger services as a precautionary measure. Below are the details:
Lahori Express: The Dehradun-Amritsar Lahori Express, which departs daily at 7:30 PM, has been cancelled on 10th, 11th, and 12th May. The train will not operate in either direction during this period.
Haridwar-Amritsar Jan Shatabdi: This train has been cancelled for today. Further updates are awaited regarding future operations.
Lalkuan-Amritsar Express (Train No. 15016): Scheduled to run on 13th May, this train has been cancelled by the Northeast Railway.
Amritsar-Lalkuan Express (Train No. 15015): This return service has been cancelled on 14th May.
Jammu Tawi-Kathgodam Express (Train No. 12208): Cancelled on 11th May.
Kathgodam-Jammu Tawi Express (Train No. 12207): Cancelled on 13th May.
Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Sanjeev Sharma stated that these cancellations are due to unavoidable circumstances. The Railway Administration has expressed regret for the inconvenience caused to passengers.
India launched Operation Sindoor on May 7 in response to the horrific terror attack in Pahalgam on April 22, which claimed 26 lives. As part of the operation, Indian forces targeted nine terror sites across Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Jammu and Kashmir. In retaliation, Pakistan escalated tensions with unprovoked artillery and drone strikes.
