Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday dressed for the last Parliament session on Saturday. Speaking in the Lok Sabha, he hailed the achievements of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government during the last five years. Among his address were also some of the important laws that changed during PM Modi's tenure including Article 370, triple talaq.

PM Modi On Article 370

PM Modi said that with the abrogation of Article 370, the full splendor of the Constitution was manifested. This must have pleased the framers of the Constitution, he said. "Today our commitment to social justice is reaching the people of Jammu and Kashmir", PM Modi added.

Highlighting the landmark decisions taken by his government including withdrawal of Article 370 that people waited for many generations, PM Modi said, "People of Jammu & Kashmir were devoid of social justice. Today, we are satisfied that we have brought social justice to the people of Jammu & Kashmir in line with our commitment to social justice. Terrorism had become like a thorn, shooting bullets into the chest of the country. We formed strict laws against terrorism. I am of the firm belief that people who suffer through issues like this will receive strength like this."

He also emphasized that the coming 25 years are very significant for India, given its aspirations and resolve to emerge as the third-largest economy.

PM Modi Speaks On Transgender Rights

PM Modi also highlighted the work done by the government for the transgender community. He said that the transgender community always felt disrespected and people would avoid these issues.

"Those who were always on the edges, whose wellbeing was not a concern to anybody, have now felt the presence of government. When free (vaccination) injections were given during COVID-19, belief was instilled in people. No one should feel helpless," said PM Modi while addressing the Parliament session.

"We have given Padma Awards to transgenders. They have started receiving the benefits of various government schemes that they didn't before. They are now living lives of respect," he said.
