Two Rajasthan teachers have been arrested for making Mephedrone (4-Methylmethcathinone) drug worth Rs 15 crore at their home. Science teacher Manoj Bhargav and Rajasthan Administrative Service (RAS) aspirant Indrajeet Vishnoi were allegedly running a drug manufacturing laboratory at their rented accommodation in Sri Ganganagar for the last two-and-a-half months.

25-year-old Bhargav is employed at a Government Senior Secondary School in Gangasagar’s Muklawa.

NCB Jodhpur Zonal Unit director Ghanshyam Soni, cited by NDTV, said the duo would travel to Delhi to procure the chemicals and take leave from their employers to manufacture the MD drug.

MD, often referred to as ecstasy, is a psychoactive substance that combines both stimulant and hallucinogenic effects. It is widely known for inducing sensations of intense pleasure, heightened energy levels and changes in sensory experiences.

They manufactured 5 kg of the drug worth Rs 15 crore and even sold over 4.22 kg of it, Soni said, adding that 780 grams of MD and several equipment were seized during a raid at the flat.

The cost of the seized drug is projected to be around Rs 2.34 crore.

Besides, chemicals like acetone, benzene, sodium hydrogen carbonate, bromine, methylamine, isopropyl alcohol, 4-methyl propiophenone and n-methyl-2-pyrrolidone were also seized.

Police have now launched a manhunt to arrest people who procured drugs from them.
