The incident took place at about 9:55 AM, and the Railway Police and local authorities are investigating.

The Udaipur-Jaipur Vande Bharat Express leaves Udaipur city at 7:50 AM and arrives in Jaipur at 14:05 PM. It runs six days a week, excluding Tuesdays.

Stone pelting on trains is not uncommon but this was the first incident of a Vande Bharat train being targeted in the state.

Earlier in July, a man and his two sons hurled stones at a Vande Bharat train running from Gorakhpur to Lucknow, smashing its window panes.

The accused told police that they threw stones at the train as it ran near Ayodhya's Sohawal station.
