Udhampur Assembly Election Result 2024 LIVE: Udhampur, a constituency in Jammu and Kashmir, has undergone changes due to the recent Delimitation Commission's work. The former Udhampur Assembly seat has now been divided into Udhampur East and Udhampur West. Voters in both constituencies casted their ballots on October 1 and the results are being counted today, October 8, 2024.
In the Udhampur West constituency, key candidates include Jasvir Singh (Independent), Sahil Manhas (Samajwadi Party) and Pawan Kumar Gupta (Bharatiya Janata Party). Alongside them, several independent candidates are also in the race. Meanwhile, Udhampur East features prominent candidates such as Ranbir Singh Pathania (BJP), Sunil Verma (Jammu and Kashmir National Conference) and Baqeel Singh (Jammu & Kashmir Peoples Democratic Party), along with other independents.
Pawan Kumar Gupta previously won the Udhampur seat in 2014 with a margin of 14,650 votes, polling 36,226 votes and securing 42.57 per cent of the vote share. In contrast, during the 2024 elections, Gupta received 22,494 votes (31.61 per cent) and was the runner-up after Balwant Singh Mankotia, who won the seat by a margin of 2,765 votes.
This election marks the first Assembly polls in Jammu and Kashmir since the abrogation of Article 370 and the delimitation of constituencies in 2022.

- Udhampur West: BJP's Pawan Kumar secured victory in the Udhampur West constituency with 47,164 votes. He was followed by Congress's Sumeet Magotra, who garnered 26,412 votes and Independent candidate Jasvir Singh, who received 12,556 votes.

- Udhampur East: BJP's Ranbir Singh Pathania has won with 32,996 votes, followed by Independent candidate Pawan Khajuria with 30,647 votes and Balwan Singh from the J-K National Panthers Party, who received 8,427 votes.

- Udhampur West: As per the Election Commission's Round 10 results out of 14, BJP's Pawan Kumar Gupta is leading with 32,738 votes, followed by Congress's Sumeet Magotra and Independent candidate Jasvir Singh, who has 11,772 votes.
- Udhampur East: According to the Election Commission's Round 11 results, BJP's Ranvir Singh Pathania is leading with 32,066 votes. He is followed closely by Independent candidate Pawan Khajuria and Balwan Singh from the J-K National Panthers Party.
- Udhampur East: Independent candidate Pawan Khajuria is in the lead with 24,381 votes, closely followed by BJP's Ranbir Singh Pathania, who has 23,107 votes, according to Round 8 results.
- Udhampur West: BJP's Pawan Kumar Gupta is leading with 14,387 votes, followed by Jasvir Singh with 9,653 votes and Congress's Sumeet Magotra with 4,979 votes, according to the Election Commission's Round 6 update.
- Udhampur East: According to the Election Commission's Round 4 update, Pawan Khajuria is leading with 13,801 votes, while BJP's Ranbir Singh Pathania trails with 10,791 votes.
- Udhampur District Election Officer Saloni Rai stated, "The counting process has commenced at the two counting centres in Udhampur. All necessary arrangements are in place and adequate security measures have been implemented. Instructions have been issued to uphold the decorum of the counting hall, and the use of electronic devices inside the centres is prohibited."

- Udhampur West: According to the Election Commission's update for Round 2, Jasvir Singh is currently in the lead with 4,872 votes, closely followed by BJP's Pawan Kumar Gupta with 3612.
- Udhampur East: After Round 2, Independent candidate Pawan Khajuria is in the lead with 5,823 votes, closely trailed by Ranbir Singh Pathania, who has 5,742 votes.
- Udhampur West: Independent candidate Jasvir Singh is in the lead with 2,326 votes, followed closely by BJP's Pawan Kumar Gupta with 2,292 votes, according to early trends.
- BJP candidate for the Jammu East Assembly constituency, Yudhvir Sethi, says, "The public has supported the BJP. Our party will reap the rewards of the development initiatives implemented by PM Modi... I am confident I will win from the Jammu East Assembly constituency by a significant margin."
- Udhampur East: As per early trends, BJP's Ranvir Singh Pathania leads with 3,478 votes, closely followed by Pawan Khajuria, who has 3,044 votes.
