Delhi IAS Aspirants Deaths: Delhi Municipal Corporation (MCD) swung to action mode after the tragic deaths of three UPSC aspirants after drowning in a waterlogged basement library of a prominent coaching institution. The civic body, in one of the largest crackdowns, sealed the basements of 13 IAS coaching institutes on Sunday evening. The action came amid huge outrage by fellow aspirants outside the coaching, who demanded justice for the victims of the system's "negligence" and "corruption".
Meanwhile, a petition was moved in the Delhi High Court seeking an independent probe against the MCD, Rao IAS Study Centre, and the Government of Delhi. The plea also seeks a directive for the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) to implement immediate measures to prevent similar incidents in the future, ANI reported.
