The incident took place on April 20 following an argument over the quality of tikki served at the event. The injured man, Raju, was immediately taken to a private hospital for treatment. A police complaint has been filed by the cook Ashok Kumar and an investigation is underway.
According to the complaint, Khadakpur resident Ashok Kumar was preparing tikkis at the event, with Raju assisting him. A young man, dissatisfied with the tikki's taste, verbally abused them when offered a replacement. In the heat of the argument, the youth allegedly threw a nearby pan of hot oil, which spilt onto Raju, causing major burns, a Jagran.com report stated.
