Uttarakhand Weather: The continuous rainfall in Uttarakhand has led to flood-like situations in several districts of the state. The authorities on Tuesday stated that multiple key roads have been damaged or blocked due to the rainfall. In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Chamoli Police stated that some parts of the Badrinath National Highway (NH-58) got blocked due to debris. However, it further stated that the debris is being removed and the situation is likely to get normal in a few hours. The Chamoli police further advised the locals and tourists to follow the guidelines and limit their outings to avoid any inconveniences.

While providing details, the Chamoli police stated that the road near Paagalnala and Bhanerpani on Badrinath National Highway (NH-58) got blocked due to debris. It further stated that the Jyotirmath-Malari motor road has also been washed out due to the continuous rainfall. The Chamoli police further advised the tourists to avoid unnecessary outings.

"Road has been blocked due to debris near Paagalnala and Bhanerpani on Badrinath National Highway (NH-58). The work of removing the debris and making the road smooth is in progress," Chamoli police stated in its post on X. "The Jyotirmath-Malari motor road has been washed out near Saldhar. Travellers and local residents are requested to avoid unnecessary travel," it stated in another post.

Earlier on Monday, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) stated that several districts are likely to receive light to heavy rainfall for the next few days. Apart from rainfall, these regions are also set to experience thunderstorms and gusty winds. While the hilly regions are likely to witness landslides, the plain areas are dealing with flood-like situations.

Apart from this, several people are feared dead and missing after Dharali village of Uttarkashi witnessed a devastating flash flood triggered by a cloudburst in the Kheer Ganga river. Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Dhami stated that all the rescue teams have arrived at the site and are engaged in relief operations.
