At least seven people died after debris fell on Dharchula-Gunji motorways, trapping a vehicle underneath in Uttarakhand on Monday. The State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF) handed over the bodies to the District Police.

Earlier on Sunday, six people died while 27 others sustained injuries after a bus carrying 32 passengers fell into a gorge in Uttarakhand’s Nainital, as reported by news agency PTI. The tragedy happened while the bus was travelling down Kaladhungi Road in Nainital with tourists from the Hisar region of Haryana.

Soon after the information was received about the incident, the SDRF, which was notified by the Nainital Disaster Control Room, sent rescuers to the accident scene.
In another incident which took place on Sunday, at least 20 pilgrims from Nepal and a person from Uttar Pradesh sustained injuries after their bus rammed into a truck on National Highway-16 in Odisha’s Balasore.
