Earlier on Sunday, a helicopter crashed near Kedarnath, killing all seven people aboard, including a two-year-old child and the pilot. Bad weather caused the Bell 407 helicopter to crash in the forests of Gauri Mai Khark, between Gaurikund and Triyuginarayan.
CEO of Uttarakhand Civil Aviation Development Authority, Sonika, said that the helicopter services have been resumed, and the tourists have been advised to plan their journey accordingly.
She added that flying in the region has not resumed but will resume once the weather improves. "Heli operations have resumed today. As the weather is not favourable currently, flying has not resumed yet. But as soon as we get clear weather, flying will resume", Sonika told news agency ANI.
On Sunday, a landslide killed one and injured two more. The Yatra was momentarily interrupted after the landslide.
The inauguration of the Gangotri and Yamunotri Dham on Akshaya Tritiya on April 30 marked the formal start of the Char Dham Yatra 2025, accompanied by Vedic chanting and ceremonies.
The doors of Kedarnath Dham were opened on May 2, and those of Badrinath on May 4.
