Uttarakhand Weather: After the sudden change in weather, Dehradun experienced cloudy skies throughout Friday and Saturday. During this period, several spells of light to moderate rainfall occurred. The average rainfall recorded in Dehradun in the past 24 hours is the highest in the last 10 years, as reported by Jagran.com.
Dehradun witnessed significant rainfall from Friday morning to Saturday morning, accumulating an average of 22.5 mm, with an additional 10.2 mm recorded throughout the day on Saturday. The last record-breaking rainfall was 23.4 mm in December 2014, which remains the highest single-day rainfall for the month. In fact, 2014 also marked the year when the region experienced its highest monthly rainfall in the past decade.
For the past two days, the maximum temperature in the city has been recorded as six degrees Celsius below normal. Light to moderate rainfall continued in Dehradun on Friday and Saturday.
Due to a drop in the temperature, a cold day situation prevailed. Bonfires were lit in various places, and people could be seen taking shelter near street corners to warm themselves by the fire. The markets were also less crowded compared to usual days. After the rain, the evening brought chilly winds that made people shiver.
