Uttarkashi Cloudburst: Several casualties are feared following reports of a cloudburst in the Naugaon region of Uttarkashi district. As soon as the district administration received the news, rescue and relief operations were launched immediately.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami expressed concern and directed the officials to ensure swift action. Many people fear being trapped. More details are awaited.

Uttarkashi Cloudburst Updates:
- A four-wheeler and several two-wheeler vehicles were swept away due to overflowing of Souli Khad, Naugaon Khad, and Devalsari Khad of Nagar Panchayat, triggered by heavy rain in Naugaon, Jagran.com reported.
- Debris entered the houses, and a connecting road near Mullana was also washed away.
- Due to the closure of the National Highway Naugaon-Barkot road, several vehicles were left stranded.

- According to a report by Amar Ujala, a residential building was buried under the debris of the stream. More than half a dozen buildings were reported to have been flooded.
- Following the reports, the NDRF and SDRF teams reached the spot, evacuated several homes and moved the residents to safer locations.
- Earlier, reports emerged that the drain flowing through Naugaon had overflowed due to incessant rainfall. As a result, water entered several houses and shops, causing significant damage.
- Vehicles parked along the roadside were swept away by the strong currents.
Earlier this month, a cloudburst triggered by heavy rainfall struck Dharali village of Uttarakhand, which claimed the lives of four people and left several injured. Several people and houses were buried under the debris.
