Valmiki Jayanti 2024 Holiday: Valmiki Jayanti will be celebrated on Wednesday, October 17, 2024, in several states. According to Jagran Josh, quoting reports, many state governments have also announced holidays for schools, colleges, government offices, and banks on this day.

In addition, all schools in Uttar Pradesh will remain closed on Wednesday. According to the report, the Uttar Pradesh government has announced that Valmiki Jayanti will be celebrated on October 17, 2024. Several states, like Punjab, Haryana, and Madhya Pradesh, have also announced a holiday on the occasion.

Valmiki Jayanti 2024 Holiday: Banks Holidays On October 17

The banks will also remain shut on Wednesday due to Maharshi Valmiki Jayanti and Kati Bihu. On this day, banks will remain close in Bengaluru, Guwahati, and Shimla. According to Financial Express, the bank will remain in operation in other cities.

According to the RBI's list of holidays on a monthly and yearly basis, the holidays are categorized into three types: holidays under the Negotiable Instruments Act, Real Time Gross Settlement Holidays, and Banks’ Closing of Accounts. These holidays can vary from state to state due to the diversity in India.

As per RBI guidelines, banks across all states are required to remain closed on the second and fourth Saturdays of every month, in addition to every Sunday.
