Vande Bharat Express: Passengers travelling between Bhopal and Lucknow can soon expect a faster and more comfortable journey, thanks to the upcoming Vande Bharat Express. The semi-high-speed train is set to connect the capital cities of Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh directly, reducing the travel time to just 7–8 hours.
Currently, around 15 indirect trains run between Bhopal and Lucknow, taking anywhere from 10 to 12 hours. These trains often remain overcrowded, especially during holidays and festivals. The new Vande Bharat Express is expected to solve this issue with fewer stops, higher speeds, and premium facilities.
According to sources, the train will consist of eight chair car coaches with a total of 564 seats, including executive class seating that offers added comfort. While the fare is expected to be higher possibly more than twice that of regular trainsit will be comparable to other premium services like Rajdhani or Duronto Express.
The total distance between Bhopal and Lucknow is approximately 720 kilometres. Despite several existing train options, passengers often struggle to find confirmed tickets due to heavy rush. The introduction of the Vande Bharat train will also benefit travellers on the Bina, Jhansi, and Kanpur routes. However, the final list of halts and stoppage duration will be confirmed once the schedule is officially released.
With this new addition, the Indian Railways aims to make intercity travel quicker and more convenient, especially for frequent travellers between Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh.
