Vande Bharat Train Update: In a major update, the Indian Railways is set to run the Vande Bharat Express train from Amritsar Station to Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra Junction from August 11, cutting travel time to 4.5 hours from 6-7 hours. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will flag off three Vande Bharat trains, including the Amritsar-Katra-Amritsar Vande Bharat, on August 10 via video conferencing. The route chart and timetable have been announced.
Apart from the Amritsar-Katra Vande Bharat, two other Vande Bharat trains, including Belagavi-Bengaluru and Ajni (Nagpur)-Pune Vande Bharat, will also be launched on August 10 for the convenience of passengers.
Katra-Amritsar Vande Bharat Express Train: Check Route, Timetable, Fare
PM Modi is set to flag off the eight-coach Katra-Amritsar Vande Bharat Express train from Katra Station on August 10. The train will run six days a week, except Tuesday, and its maintenance work will be done in Sahibabad. According to the information shared by the Railway Board, the train will take 4.5 hours to reach Katra Station from Amritsar, providing much-needed relief to the passengers from long hours of travel. Earlier, the mail and express trains from Amritsar to Katra used to take 5-7 hours. The fare of the Katra-Amritsar Vande Bharat Express is expected to range between Rs 1,000 to Rs 1100.
Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra-Amritsar Vande Bharat (26406) will leave Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra at 6:40 AM and will reach Amritsar at 12:20 PM. In its journey, the train will stop at Jammu Tawi station at 8:05 AM, Jalandhar City Railway Station at 11:03 AM, and Beas at 11:28 AM.
In the return journey, the Amritsar- Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra Vande Bharat train will depart from Amritsar at 4:25 PM and arrive in Katra at 10:00 PM. It will stop at Beas station at 5:03 PM, Jalandhar City Railway Station at 5:33 PM, Pathankot Cantt station at 7:03 PM, and Jammu Tawi station at 8:28 PM.
