As the nation marks the completion of 150 years of the National Song Vande Mataram, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday attened an event to commemorate it at Indira Gandhi stadium. During his address, he said that Vande Mataram is a prayer to Maa Bharti.
The PM said, "Vande Mataram is a mantra, a dream, a resolution and an energy. It is a prayer to Maa Bharati. It takes us back in history... It gives courage to our future."
He added that there is no goal that India can't achieve. "There is no resolution that cannot be accomplished. There is no goal that we Indians cannot achieve," the PM added.
Calling it a historic day, PM Modi said, "Today, November 7, is a historic day. We are having a grand celebration of 150 years of the creation of Vande Mataram... This event will generate new energy among crores of Indians... My greeting to every citizen on the 150th anniversary of Vande Mataram..."
The PM also said, ".The main emotion of 'Vande Mataram' is Bharat, Maa Bharati... Bharat ek rashtra ke roop mein wo kundan ban kar ubhra jo ateet ki har chot sehta raha aur sehkar bhi amaratva ko prapt kar gaya. (India as a nation emerged as a gem that endured every blow of the past and through cooperation also achieved immortality)..."

PM Modi described the collective singing of Vande Mataram as "an experience beyond expression," which captures the unity and emotion of the nation.
He said, "The collective singing of Vande Mataram is an experience beyond expression. In so many voices, one rhythm, one tone, one emotion, the same thrill and flow, such energy, such a wave, has stirred the heart. This magnificent experience of the collective anthem Vande Mataram is truly beyond expression. In so many voices, one rhythm, one tone, one emotion, one kind of thrill, one kind of flow, such harmony, such waves... this energy has made the heart pulsate."

During the event, the prime minister also launched a portal commemorating the 150th anniversary of the National Song 'Vande Mataram' and released a Commemorative Stamp and Coin on the occasion.
