Vande Bharat Metro Train: The Indian Railways has made a big announcement regarding Vande Metro trains, keeping in mind the problems of daily railway passengers. The work regarding the project is going on at a fast pace. These new Vande metro trains will run on the lines of the metro and will connect 124 cities of the country in the first phase. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said that the first Vande Metro train will start running on the tracks in July. Initially, it will be run on a trial basis for two-three months. Following that, it will be operated on other routes.
The route has not been selected yet for testing. According to jagran.com, a total of 50 trains are ready presently. Four hundred additional Vande Metros will be ordered as soon as the testing is completed. The project is aimed at running four hundred Vande Metros in the next two-three years. The number of coaches in Vande Metro will be as per the requirement.
Railways is preparing for four, five, twelve, and sixteen coaches. On routes with more passengers, these trains will have 16 coaches and four on those routes where the passengers will be fewer. The first indigenous semi-high speed Vande Metro will run on the lines of intercity. Through these, those cities will be connected and will be located at a maximum distance of 250 km.
The maximum speed of trains will be 130 km per hour, and the fare will be normal. The issue of waiting that has been constant for years now is likely to be over by 2030. The Union Railway Minister, regarding the waiting in trains, said that when the construction work on coaches, locos, and tracks is completed, then the problem of waiting in trains will end. This will take at least seven to eight years. This means that the waiting problem in trains will end by 2031-32.
It is expected that everyone will get confirmed tickets, and the issue of waiting won't be there. Presently, five thousand kilometers of new tracks are being laid every year. The target is to increase it to six thousand per year by next year.
