Varanasi Nagar Nigam Election Result 2023 Live: The counting of votes for the UP Nagar Nikay elections 2023 were held on Saturday, May 13. BJP's candidate Ashok Tiwari won the Varanasi mayoral election. In Varanasi, also known as Kashi, votes were cast in the first phase of municipal elections held on May 4. Varanasi is considered a stronghold of the BJP. It is also the parliamentary seat of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. There are two municipal bodies in Varanasi - Varanasi Municipal Corporation and Gangapur Nagar Panchayat. The Ramnagar Municipality had earlier merged with the Varanasi Municipal Corporation.

- Varanasi Winners
• Ward No. 68 Samajwadi Party's Amardev Singh won from Varanasi Konia by 459 votes. He won the councilor election for the fifth time.
• SP candidate Govind Prasad Singh won from ward number 49.
• Independent candidate Archana Yadav won in Inshwargangi ward. He defeated BJP candidate by more than 2000 votes.
• Manish Gupta declared victorious from Pichas Mochan.
• Samajwadi Party Bhaiyalal Yadav declared victory from Madhyameshwar ward.
• BJP candidate Rohit Jaiswal won from Ward Hanuman Phatak.
• BJP's Suresh Chaurasia won from Ward Katuapura by 9 votes.
• BJP candidate Urmila Pandey won in Ward No 32.
• Lucky won by 500 votes in Prahladghat.
There are a total of 100 wards in Varanasi Municipal Corporation. In Varanasi, Ashok Tiwari from BJP, Omprakash Singh from SP, Anil Srivastava from Congress and Subhash Chandra Manjhi from BSP are candidates for the post of mayor. There are a total of 17 Municipal Corporations, 199 Municipalities and 544 Nagar Panchayats in UP. Municipal elections were held in two phases on May 4 and May 11.
