A woman, who was travelling on an Air India flight, was served a non-vegetarian meal on the flight. The passenger, Veera Jain took to social media X and slammed the airline for serving the meal that had chicken in it. The incident took place while she was on board the Calicut-Mumbai flight.

Jain took to her social media handle and shared the picture of the food along with her PNR number and other details.

"On my Air India flight AI582, I was served a vegetarian meal with chicken pieces in it! I boarded the flight from Calicut airport. This was a flight that was supposed to take off at 18:40 PM but left the airport at 19:40 PM," she said in her post.

"When I informed the cabin supervisor (Sona), she apologized and informed me that there was more than one complaint about the same issue other than me and my friend. However, after I informed the crew, there was no action taken to inform other passengers having vegetarian meals," she said in her post.

While one of the posted pictures had the word "veg meal" printed on the wrapper, another picture showed chicken pieces inside the food. Besides, being served the wrong food, Jain's flight scheduled for a 6:40 pm departure, was delayed by an hour.

Her post garnered the attention of several social media users and the airlines also responded to her asking for the details.

"Dear Ms. Jain, we request you delete the asked details from the open tweet (to avoid misuse) and share the same with us via DM along with your PNR," commented Air India.

Jain further also gave the follow-up and stated that the airlines just apologised for the issue.

"For the issue raised, they have only given me apologies via DM. I don't understand how it is not a realization for them that this is a case of hurting sentiments. Imagine not making the payment right when booking their flight and later just apologizing for it continuously," she said.
