The two-day 'Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference – Kutch and Saurashtra', organised at Marwadi University in Rajkot, concluded today. During the conference, Cabinet Minister Shri Jitubhai Vaghani announced that 5,492 Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) involving investments worth Rs 5.78 lakh crore were signed.

Addressing the valedictory ceremony at Marwadi University, Cabinet Minister Jitubhai Vaghani said the state government has prepared a clear roadmap to develop Saurashtra and Kutch by 2047. He recalled that when Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched Vibrant Gujarat in 2003, his strong vision and determination have helped Gujarat and India achieve rapid development. The Minister said the Prime Minister's presence at the regional conference shows his strong commitment to the development of Saurashtra and Kutch.

Presenting the historic journey and success figures of Vibrant Gujarat, the Minister stated that during the first Vibrant Gujarat in 2003, only 80 MoUs worth Rs 66,000 crore were signed, whereas at this regional conference held in Rajkot alone, 5,492 MoUs worth Rs 5.78 lakh crore have been finalised.

These figures and the participation of several countries demonstrate the unwavering trust in Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Initiatives such as Atmanirbhar Bharat, Startup India, and Make in India are being realized under the Prime Minister's leadership, which will directly benefit Gujarat's entrepreneurs and industrial units.

Expressing confidence that the in-depth discussions held across various sectors during the conference would prove to be guiding for industries, the Minister urged more and more industrial units and citizens to take advantage of the Vibrant Gujarat Regional Exhibition being organized till January 15. In conclusion, he expressed hope that when India assumes the position of a global leader, Saurashtra and Kutch will emerge as its principal growth engines.

On this occasion, State Environment Minister Arjunbhai Modhwadia stated that the 'Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference' has become a major platform showcasing the potential of Saurashtra-Kutch to the world. Referring to various historical anecdotes, he said that entrepreneurship runs deep in the veins of the people of Kutch and Saurashtra.

Introducing the industrial strengths of various sectors of Saurashtra, the Minister said that every region of the state is endowed with some form of skill, with Saurashtra holding a dominant position. He stated that under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Porbandar, Dwarka, and Somnath belt is set to become the world's largest tourism zone.

Speaking about progress in the semiconductor sector in the country and the state, he said that Gujarat will become a hub for the semiconductor sector by 2027. On this occasion, he called upon industrialists of Kutch and Saurashtra to move ahead by investing in new-age technology sectors.

In her welcome address, Industries and Mines Department Principal Secretary Mamta Verma described the Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference of Saurashtra-Kutch as a moment of pride, stating that over the past two days, a strong platform has been provided to entrepreneurs through the convergence of "scale and skill." Through B2B, B2G, reverse buyers-sellers meets, and more than 50 seminars, the younger generation has also found a new direction.

On this occasion, Industries Commissioner P. Swaroop presented holistic details of the successful journey of the Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference through a presentation. Founder of Marwadi University, Ketan Marwadi, in his address stated that the Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference has proved that India today is reaching new heights on the global stage. The presence of representatives from 24 countries and 4,000 entrepreneurs at the conference under the leadership of Prime Minister and Chief Minister is a historic achievement.

During the program, the book "Kutch & Saurashtra: Anchoring Gujarat's Vision 2047" was released by the dignitaries present. On this occasion, entrepreneurs from various MSMEs, handicraft artisans, and the Industries Department who delivered outstanding performance were felicitated with awards. The management of Marwadi University was also felicitated with gratitude.

The event was attended by the Principal Advisor to Chief Minister Dr Hasmukh Adhia, Additional Chief Secretary of the Revenue Department Jayanti Ravi, District Panchayat President Pravinaben Rangani, MLA Dr Darshitaben Shah, MLA Rameshbhai Tilala, L&T CEO Siddharth Gupta, Jyoti CNC Chairman Parakramsinh Jadeja, Marwadi University Co-founder Jitubhai Chandarana, Rajkot Chamber of Commerce President VP Vaishnav, leading industrialists, representatives from the trade and industry sector, senior officials, and a large number of citizens.
