Mumbai Rain: Vistara Airlines on Tuesday issued a travel advisory for its passengers due to an 'orange alert' for heavy showers in Mumbai today. The airline alerted passengers about potential delays caused by inclement weather and advised them to allow extra time for their journey to the airport. "#TravelUpdate: Flights to and from Mumbai may be impacted due to bad weather. Customers are advised to allow more time for their journey to the airport. Thanks," Vistara wrote in a post on X, formally Twitter.

Notably, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted heavy rainfall in several parts of Maharashtra, including Mumbai, on July 16. The weather body has additionally issued a red alert for Raigad and an orange alert for Mumbai, Thane, Palghar, Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg, Pune, Satar, and Kolhapur. Several parts of the state have been getting heavy rain for the last couple of days, causing floods and traffic snarls in different cities.
Mumbai Weather: Weekly Forecast
The weather forecast for the upcoming week in an area shows a consistent pattern of cloudy skies and rainfall. Starting from July 16, expect a generally cloudy sky with heavy rain, with temperatures ranging from 25 degrees Celsius as the minimum to 29 degrees Celsius as the maximum. This weather pattern continues into July 17 and 18, with similar conditions of cloudy skies and heavy rain, maintaining temperatures around 24 degrees Celsius to 29 degrees Celsius. On July 19, the forecast remains unchanged with cloudy skies and heavy rainfall, with temperatures ranging from 24 degrees Celsius to 28 degrees Celsius.
The trend shifts slightly on July 20 and 21, where the forecast predicts rain throughout the day with temperatures staying steady at 24 degrees Celsius to 28 degrees Celsius. Residents are advised to prepare for potentially heavy rainfall throughout the week, which could lead to localised flooding and transportation disruptions.

Rain Alert In THESE States
The IMD has issued a rain alert for several North Indian states, including Delhi-NCR, Punjab, Haryana, Western Uttar Pradesh, Ladakh, Jammu and Kashmir, Gangetic West Bengal, Rayalaseema, and Tamil Nadu. Light to moderate rain is predicted in these areas within the next 24 hours. Additionally, Konkan and Goa, coastal Karnataka, parts of central Maharashtra, and northern interior Karnataka may experience moderate to heavy rains, with very heavy rains in some places.
According to the meteorological department, the monsoon line is currently passing through several key areas including Sri Ganganagar in Rajasthan, Hisar in Haryana, Delhi, Barabanki in UP, Dehri on Son in Bihar, Asansol in West Bengal, and towards the Bay of Bengal. Cyclonic circulations over North Gujarat and Jharkhand are also expected to bring rain to these regions.
Moderate to heavy rains are expected across regions from Rajasthan to West Bengal for the next four to five days. Some areas in eastern Rajasthan and Uttarakhand might experience very heavy rains until July 19, while heavy rains are anticipated in western Uttar Pradesh on July 17 and 18.
South-West India Weather Update
In South-West India, light to moderate rains are forecasted for Kerala, Vidarbha, and Marathwada with some areas experiencing heavy rains. Heavy rains are anticipated in several districts of Telangana, accompanied by thunderstorms and strong winds.
