The winter chill is set to intensify in northern parts of India as temperatures are expected to drop further, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD). The IMD has predicted light fog over parts of Uttar Pradesh today. Several northeastern states, including Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, and Meghalaya, are likely to experience widespread rainfall. Heavy Rainfall Likely in Arunachal Pradesh

A western disturbance (WD) has been detected as a cyclonic system over western Afghanistan, with another WD set to impact northwest India from 8th February. Scattered light rain and snowfall are expected in Arunachal Pradesh and northeastern Assam on 6th–7th February, with Arunachal Pradesh likely to witness heavy downpours on 7th February.

Snowfall Predicted in the Himalayan Region

Another western disturbance is expected to bring light rain and snowfall to the western Himalayan region from 8th–11th February.
