Weather Alert: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast light rain accompanied by cloudy conditions for Delhi on Sunday. One or two spells of light rain with thunderstorms are possible during the morning and afternoon. As monsoon activity continues across the country, the weather department has also issued alerts for heavy rain in many states for the next few days. A landslide warning has been issued at many places in Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand.
Delhi Weather Update
The minimum temperature on Sunday is expected to be around 24 degrees Celsius while the maximum can touch 33 degrees Celsius. On Saturday, light rain was witnessed at some places in Delhi. The maximum temperature was recorded 0.7 degrees above normal at 34.5 degrees Celsius while the minimum temperature was recorded 1.5 degrees below normal at 25 degrees Celsius.
Maharashtra Weather: 6 Districts Including Mumbai On Red Alert
IMD has issued a red alert in Maharashtra's Ratnagiri, Raigad, Mumbai city, Mumbai suburbs, Thane and Palghar districts. As per IMD's weather forecast, moderate to intense rain will lash these areas for the next three to four hours.
Heavy rains lashed Mumbai on Saturday, leading to severe waterlogging in many parts of the city. Incessant rains caused water to collect at Gandhi Nagar, King's Circle and Sion railway stations.
UP Weather
Uttar Pradesh is witnessing varied monsoon activity. Rain has stopped in eastern UP and western Uttar Pradesh for the last 24 hours. However, the weather department has forecast thundershowers at some places in Western UP on August 17 and 18. Apart from this, there will be heavy rain in Lucknow this evening. Lucknow’s maximum temperature is likely to hit 35 degrees Celsius while the minimum will stay at around 27 degrees Celsius.
Talking about eastern UP, the weather is expected to remain clear for the next 24 hours. There may be light rain at some places on August 18.
