Weather News Today: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has announced that the Southwest Monsoon is set to advance into several states over the next four days. These include Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Andhra Pradesh and West Bengal. Meanwhile, the weather agency has issued a heatwave warning for northern India. Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Haryana, Delhi, Punjab and Jharkhand are expected to experience heatwave to severe heatwave conditions today. Heatwave conditions are also likely to prevail in Jammu, Himachal Pradesh, West Bengal and Bihar tomorrow.
The IMD's weather bulletin states that "heatwave to severe heatwave conditions are very likely in many/most parts of Uttar Pradesh, in some/many parts of Punjab, Haryana-Chandigarh-Delhi during 14-18, western parts of Gangetic West Bengal and Bihar on 14, Jharkhand and Uttarakhand during 14-15 and isolated heat wave conditions over western parts of Gangetic West Bengal and Bihar on 15, Jharkhand & Uttarakhand on June 16."
Heatwave Alert In THESE States
Furthermore, the weather department has predicted that heatwave conditions are expected to continue in Himachal Pradesh, Jammu Division, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh until June 17.
Meanwhile, the Northeast states are likely to experience a wet spell, accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds. Light to moderate showers are expected in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, West Bengal, and Sikkim until 21 June.

Heavy Rain In THESE States
The IMD has also forecasted heavy rainfall in West Bengal, Sikkim, Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura until June 19. Additionally, the weather agency predicts heavy rainfall in Kerala on 17 and 18 June, in Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka on June 17, in Maharashtra over the next three days and in Goa on 17 and 18 June.
