Weather News: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for heavy rainfall in Tamil Nadu over the next two days. A similar alert has also been put in place for other regions, including Puducherry, Kerala, South Interior Karnataka, and Coastal Karnataka for September 29. The weather body has also forecast heavy rainfall in Puducherry, Kerala, Arunachal Pradesh, Lakshadweep, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura on September 30. Meanwhile, widespread rainfall is likely to occur across East Uttar Pradesh over the next six days. IMD also informed that light to moderate rainfall is likely in parts of Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, and Rajasthan over the next two days. Uttarakhand is also likely to see isolated to scattered light to moderate rainfall this week.

Central India will also receive scattered to fairly widespread rainfall over the coming week. Northeast India is likely to see scattered to fairly widespread light to moderate rainfall over the next five days.

Furthermore, Konkan and Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, and Gujarat are expected to experience similar rainfall patterns over the next two days, followed by isolated to scattered rainfall in the subsequent five days. Dry conditions are predicted in Saurashtra and Kutch from October 2.

Flood Alert In Bihar

The Bihar government has issued a flood alert for northern and central regions of the state, particularly along the swollen Kosi, Gandak, and Ganga rivers, after water was released from the Valmikinagar and Birpur barrages on Saturday, according to a senior official. Several districts are already on alert as the IMD forecasts heavy rainfall and warns of a potential flash flood risk. This situation could worsen conditions for over 16.28 lakh people in 13 districts who are already facing flooding due to previous heavy rains.

More Rains On Cards For Rajasthan

The Met department has forecast light to moderate rainfall in parts of the Kota, Udaipur, and Bharatpur divisions on Sunday. However, they expect that rainfall across most areas of the state will begin to diminish starting September 30.
