Weather Report Today: The cold wave in North India continues to intensify, with severe winter conditions gripping the region since the beginning of December. Dense morning fog has been reported in several areas. Meanwhile, parts of South India are experiencing heavy rainfall triggered by Cyclone Ditwah which has weakened into a deep depression.

Snowfall has begun in the mountainous regions. The temperature has dropped below freezing in many parts of Kashmir. The plummeting temperatures have not only affected visibility but have also increased the chill.

Delhi Weather Today

Delhi-NCR continues to suffer from heavy pollution, causing significant inconvenience to residents. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has stated that there will be no significant change in the weather on Tuesday. The IMD has stated that there is no possibility of rain in the national capital. Temperatures may drop slightly, further exacerbating the chill.

UP Weather

As per IMD, temperatures will drop significantly in various districts of Uttar Pradesh on December 2 and 3. The weather body said that the conditions are expected to be clear in eastern and western Uttar Pradesh on Tuesday. However, light to moderate fog is likely in some districts during the morning hours.

South India Weather

While cold weather continues to wreak havoc in North India, Cyclone Ditwah continues to wreak havoc in several states of South India, particularly Tamil Nadu due to Cyclone Ditwah, which formed off coastal Sri Lanka and in the southwest Bay of Bengal. The weather department has predicted heavy rains in coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, and Rayalaseema until December 2.

Chennai Rains

Chennai and its neighbouring districts received heavy rainfall on Monday, disrupting normal life. The heavy downpour submerged major roads, uprooted trees, and disrupted traffic. The Greater Chennai Corporation said it has kept 103 boats ready for rescue operations in low-lying areas in case of any emergency.

Chennai School Holdiay

Around 60 personnel of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and 30 personnel of the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) were deployed. The weather body has forecast very heavy rains in Chennai and Tiruvallur districts till Tuesday morning. The cyclone is currently near the Tamil Nadu-Puducherry coasts. The Chennai Airport Authority has cancelled 10 flights. Many schools in Chennai and surrounding districts, including Chengalpattu, have declared a holiday for Tuesday.
