Weather Update: A severe cold wave is tightening its grip across North India. Since Tuesday, temperatures have dipped sharply in Delhi-NCR, Rajasthan, Punjab, and Haryana. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has cautioned that the cold conditions are likely to intensify further in the coming days.

Fog Witnessed In THESE States

Moderate fog prevailed over Assam and Meghalaya. Scattered fog was observed over Northeast India, Bihar, eastern Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, and western Madhya Pradesh.

IMD has issued a critical cold wave warning for Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan. This sudden onset of extreme cold signals an early onset of winter conditions, with night temperatures expected to drop 2 to 5 degrees Celsius below the seasonal normal.

Temperature Drops Below 10 Degrees Celsius In 16 Rajasthan Districts

16 districts in Rajasthan have already recorded minimum temperatures below 10 degrees Celsius. Sikar recorded temperatures as low as 7 degrees Celsius. The IMD has issued yellow and orange alerts in vulnerable areas to ensure public awareness and preparedness against cold-related health hazards and potential agricultural impacts.

Rain Alert In South India

During the past 24 hours, light to moderate rain with isolated heavy rain occurred over Kerala and Tamil Nadu. Light to moderate rain occurred over Kerala, the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, the south coast of Andhra Pradesh, and Lakshadweep. Scattered light rain was recorded over the south coast of Karnataka.

During the next 24 hours, light to moderate rain with isolated heavy showers are possible over the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Light to moderate rain with isolated heavy rain is possible over Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and Lakshadweep.

Fog Engulfs Parts Of Uttar Pradesh And Bihar

Fog is likely over parts of northeast India, eastern Uttar Pradesh, and Bihar. Light to moderate rain is expected over coastal Karnataka. Isolated light rain is possible over Nagaland, Manipur, and Mizoram.
