Weather Update: With the ongoing monsoon session, Delhi-NCR is set to experience heavy downpours today, July 28. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a forecast of heavy rainfall for Delhi, Noida, Ghaziabad, Gurgaon, Faridabad, and NCR regions. The region will continue to see intermittent rain through August 2.
“Delhi-NCR will remain cloudy on July 28. There are chances of heavy rain in many areas,” said Dr. Shashikant Mishra, Senior Meteorologist at IMD.
Heavy Showers Expected Across Uttar Pradesh
Several districts across Uttar Pradesh are on alert for intense rainfall today. The forecast includes thunderstorms and heavy showers in regions such as Meerut, Saharanpur, Bijnor, Muzaffarnagar, Hapur, Rampur, Bulandshahr, and Bareilly. Residents are advised to stay updated and take necessary precautions, especially in low-lying or flood-prone areas.
Bihar Issues Heavy Rain Warning in Multiple Districts
Bihar is also likely to witness strong monsoon activity. A warning for heavy rainfall has been issued in several key districts, including Patna, West Champaran, Darbhanga, Samastipur, Sitamarhi, Muzaffarpur, Lakhisarai, and Munger. The continuous rain could lead to waterlogging and disruptions, so authorities are urging the public to remain alert.

Rainfall Predicted in Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh
Several areas in Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh are also expected to receive rain today due to a low-pressure system developing over the Bay of Bengal. In Rajasthan, more than 10 cities are under a rain alert. Meanwhile, Madhya Pradesh districts such as Guna, Ashoknagar, Shivpuri, Gwalior, Datia, Bhind, Morena, Tikamgarh, and Niwari have been flagged for possible heavy rainfall.

Alerts In Uttarakhand
In Uttarakhand, an orange alert has been declared for heavy rain in Champawat, Nainital, and Bageshwar. Additionally, a yellow alert has been issued for Tehri, Dehradun, Pauri, and Pithoragarh. These alerts indicate a risk of flash floods, landslides, and reduced visibility in hilly areas.
